Should I Include Volunteer UX/UI Roles on My Resume?

Dear Yvonne,

I'm a UX/UI designer with less than a year of experience and I have not been able to secure a real role but two volunteer roles. Is it advisable to include these roles on my resume?

Absolutely. Volunteer roles are as important as a full-time employment opportunity. They show your willingness to gain experience and contribute meaningfully to projects. Be sure to set SMART goals for your volunteer experience, and ask for a LinkedIn recommendation if possible. Consider internships that can allow you to advocate for a full-time position down the line. Don’t be discouraged by volunteer opportunities, and definitely add your resume.
